The ABC General Manager reports to a Board made up of volunteers who are the directors of the company. The Board meet bi monthly to review strategy and progress against plans. We employ a dedicated Industry Consultant, to run our Indigenous programs and mentor the apprentices and trainees. We actively encourages Indigenous (and nonIndigenous) tall school students throughout the region to complete school based trainee ships. We match students with trainee ships that suit their interests and seeks labor placements in supportive environments. ABC Midwest provides ongoing mentoring to aid the students whole their trainee ships and be work ready when they finish tall school. The program was designed to assist Indigenous people gain their trade qualification in an environment that shows compassion and accepting to their cultural needs and environments. It also aims to address the below representation of Aboriginal people in the building and construction industry. The clever program was the beginning of its type in WA and since its inception MTG Builders had commenced more than 40 Indigenous apprentices and trainees and completed the building of 48 dwellings over a 20 year IOU with the DH. Our ongoing vision is to create a sense of achievement through solid labor and commitment, and for participants in the projects to eventually become role models to their peers. We recruit and mentor the participants alongside their host employer, which can vary from project to project based on successful tendering.
